A session of the Spokesperson Training School

Between May and November 2025, the FP2030 Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Hub will launch the Spokespersons Training School, an innovative regional initiative designed to strengthen the leadership, communication, and advocacy skills of young people aged 18 to 35 from across Latin America and the Caribbean, who belong to the FP2030 Youth Wave.

Conducted in a fully virtual format, the School aims to ensure accessibility and inclusion, bringing together a diverse group of approximately 100 selected youth representing different genders, sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnic backgrounds, and disabilities. This diversity reflects FP2030 LAC Hub’s commitment to promoting equity and representation in the sexual and reproductive health and family planning agenda.

Over the course of six months, participants have engaged in 90-minute interactive sessions combining short presentations, group discussions, case studies, simulations, and practical activities. The methodology is participatory and dynamic, creating an environment that fosters dialogue, collective learning, and knowledge exchange.

As the program’s culmination, 30 selected spokespersons will have the opportunity to represent the School and share their work at the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) 2025, to be held in Colombia. This global gathering will convene leaders, activists, and professionals from around the world to advance commitments toward a future where everyone can fully exercise their sexual and reproductive rights.

The FP2030 LAC Hub Spokespersons Training School is more than a capacity-building initiative—it is a movement to empower a generation of young leaders capable of inspiring, mobilizing, and driving transformative change in their communities and beyond through real-life advocacy opportunities.
