The International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) is proud to announce the launch of the ICFP 2025 Media Fellowship and its official call for applications.

This unique fellowship is designed to support and elevate the work of media professionals committed to SRHR. Fellows will gain access to global experts, groundbreaking research, and an international platform to report on the key issues shaping the future of family planning worldwide.

KEY FELLOWSHIP DETAILS 

  • Duration: The ICFP 2025 fellowship spans the duration of the ICFP 2025 conference, taking place from November 3–6, 2025, in Bogotá, Colombia.

  • Support Provided: Selected fellows will receive the following Fellowship Package:

    • Travel and accommodation support to attend ICFP 2025 in Bogota from Nov 1-6, 2025

    • Complimentary conference registration

    • Participation in the exclusive ICFP 2025 Media Fellowship program, including access to small briefings, interview opportunities and networking events

    • Mentorship from experienced SRHR journalists

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Open to journalists, community reporters, bloggers, influencers and content creators with a demonstrated interest in sexual and reproductive health and family planning.

  • Applicants must have a track record of publishing or broadcasting in recognized media outlets.

  • Proficiency in English, French, or Spanish is required.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

The application process to join the ICFP 2025 Media Fellowship program will start on June xxx and end on Septmeber 5. 2025. 

  • Submission Requirements:

    • A completed application form

    • A statement of interest outlining your motivation and objectives for attending ICFP 2025

    • A statement outlining how participating in ICFP 2025 will help advance the coverage of SRHR in your unique context. 

    • Two samples of recent work related to SRHR

    • A letter of endorsement from a media organization (if applicable)

  • Deadline: Applications must be submitted by September 5, 2025.

SELECTION PROCESS:
We aim to select a diverse group of journalists, reporters, and media makers that balance topic, region, perspective, and experience. 

Applications will be reviewed by a panel comprising members of the ICFP Secretariat and SRHR communication experts. Selection will be based on the applicant's experience, commitment to SRHR issues, and potential to contribute meaningfully to the conference's media coverage. 

Expectations of Fellows:

  • Participate in the full media program during ICFP 2025, including conference sessions, interviews, and media briefings. 

  • Share insights and coverage through personal and organizational platforms.

  • Produce coverage of ICFP 2025 with your unique perspective and add to the media fellowship outcomes report.
